     Born and raised in Canada, Alex Kogler came to this area to play semi-Pro Hockey for the Cape Cod Cubs. Alex reached the top of his profession, but he didn't do it playing hockey.      During the next 25 years, Butler's became nationally recognized as one of the best donut shops in the country. Ask any long-time Westport resident and they'll tell you that's an understatement! Under Alex's management (1979 - 2005), Butler's was THE best donut shop in the country. In this video, we find out how he did it.

     "The biggest trade secret is hard work," says Alex, and "you have to be aware of what's going on with your product."
