Westport Matters: Antique Shingle MillIn this year 2000 episode, Mayflower descendent Billy White demonstrates how Massachusetts homesteaders made their own wood shingles in the early 1900's. A must see for anyone interested in antique farm equipment, Billy White's collection includes a 1924 Chase shingle mill, made by the Chase Turbine Company of Orange, Mass., and an antique rotary plane, made by the Carver Cotton Gin Company of Carver, Mass.
